Well, now I really am upset!!! Here I am with a very nice scanner that might as well be a paperweight!!! The only thing I can think of to do now is try to find an email for support at canon and explain the situation and see if they can send me the install procedure to follow.

One other question though: can a scanner be on a hub or does it have to have a direct plugin to a usb port? That isn't the cause of my problem, but I did wonder, if I ever get it working, whether or not that makes a difference.
