Also, David, while I see your mention of the java plugins and the xpi file
(though you referred to it incorrectly I believe) you don't mention having
installed the speech tts. You mention permissions changes but don't
mention running the installer. It's the clc4tts_freetts-installer_1.2.jar
Maybe you installed this and just forgot to mention it but I thought I
should mention it just to cover the bases. This is the step before the
downloading of the xpi file and of course firefox/firevox won't speak
without it.
