It doesn't matter if you do it for each account; this still happens, and i 
don't personally really think it has to do with small periodic 
interruptions though I see the sense of the theory. I never have mail 
hanging around on my server and never have repeated messages in my Pine 
email unless it's a glitch in an email list itself resending messages.
