I almost always put my MacBook to sleep when it is not in use, for
the sheer convenience of opening it up and having everything back the
way I left it in a matter of seconds. I doubt that shutting it down
and restarting would be any considerable strain or cause any damage
outside of normal wear and tear. Sounds like a fiction to me.

Hi folks,
Just to clear up something I was adviced and have read elseware. Is
it true that it is best not to shutdown your mac? I have been told
that it's best to put it to sleep rather than shutting it down. Is
this fact or fiction? It's said that if you restart it a lot, you
could possibly damage it! Is this true or just rumours?
