Hi,
Because you already have a monitor, in many ways the fully loaded Mac mini might do the job. The unit comes with a DVI out port as well as a DVI to VGA adapter. You can also get a DVI to SVGA/Composite adapter if you need it. These adapters are around $20. Without Tax and Sales Tax, you can get a fully loaded Mac mini and keyboard and mouse for around 1300 or so.

OUt of your price range? Hmm. I think the IMac can be more powerful than the mini although the hi end mini might be all you need. How big of a monitor do you need? You might make up the price differential between the minni and the mac with that because the imac includes the monitor you select to a point. Of course, if you want a 48" one, you'll have to buy a mini.

Subject: Mac Mini or IMac?

Hello,
I am looking for an opinion. I want to purchase a Mac for my home. I
will primarily be using Voiceover. I will be doing a fair amount of
audio editing, dvd conversion, etc.
My question is, will the high-end Mac Mini do what I need. My wife will also be doing some photo editing. I like the Imac, but it is a bit out of my price range right now. However, I don't want to buy a Mini if it
is going to be very slow.
