I like to use first letter navigation, it's quicker no matter the view.

tell us more about this? how are you trying to find your applications? do you know what happened just before the change? It might be just a matter of renaming a folder. remember, pressing enter on a file or folder will put you in a mode that allows either accidentally or purposefully the renaming
of that item. pressing enter or escape or tab without doing anything
distructive like typing or backspacing escapes with no harm done.

Subject: resetting my Mac

OK I have had my Mac for less than 24 hours and I seem to have messed up a
bit!
just so you all know it's my first and I am trying hard to drive it. it's hard to get my head out of the windows environment as it's so easy if you
see what I mean.
now all I need to know is
how to reset to factory settings? I am using Tiger at the moment, the reason for resettin is that things seem to have changed and I can no longer find
applications.

sorry for the long winded email.

Keith
