Just installed Leopard with a question

Hi all,
I've finally got a chance to try Leopard. I've installed it and everything is 
working fine so far.
However, when I shutdown the Mac, VoiceOver says login window. Then nothing 
seem to happen. I have waited for a minute but then i turned it off manually 
but that is not the right method.
Any help would be apreciated, many thanks!
