What mac are you using, what keyboard?  Not all keyboards are created equal.

If it's a portable, depending on how it is setup, you will want to add the 
fn key that is the key on the bottom left of the keyboard to f4 to go down, 
f5 to go up with volume.  If you are using a full apple keyboard, the keys 
you want art to the left of the eject key which is at the top right of the 
entire leyboard meaning above the num pad.

OK then, will tyr that.
One minor problem, i have tried changing the volume on the entire system, 
but when i press the f-keys i doesn't work. How do I decrease the volume?
