yeah the problem seems to be that i can't tell it what type of
account, like pop, ETC.
Any thoughts?

features in the table of servers you use. I cannot for the world of
me remember now where I did it but you probably need to go to file
and accounts. When in Mail, press VO keys + M and you will be in
the menu bar for Mail. Arrow right to file and down to find
