If this is true, then it's a big disappointment.  I never heard of a
56k modem in the Macbook either, but here's the weird thing.  The
phone chord was able to fit into the jack in the side.  My HP (the
Windows machine) has two jacks, one that's for the phone and one
that's ethernet.  When I try to put the phone chord in the ethernet
jack it doesn't work.  That's why I thought the one in the Macbook was
a regular modem.  Btw, the cable for broadband also fits in there.
