Ok, rewriting this on my lovely windows machine, which loves to either
restart itself unexpectedly or completely freeze! It will be
reformated asap. Did I mention I adore my Mac? Btw, sorry if this is
inappropriate for this list, but a few people from here asked me about
this.

Basically, the last month has been pure hell with comcast. They came
two weeks ago, got the net to work and then it went out two ours
later. they came on Friday, got it to work again and after 20
minutes, it stopped working. They came yesterday and we did a little
better. It worked until 11 last night, didn't come back until mid
morning and then it went out later in the day and hasn't come back
yet. They've Oh, and Friday, they changed the channel that it
connects to so that whenever it came back on and the phone rang, I'd
get kicked off. We got wireless in the hopes that our previous
problems (same ones) with just the ethernet cable would stop, but they
obviously didn't. Sometimes, the main computer will work and the
other two won't. I spoke with a friend who's been using computers
since 1971 and we did a few things with the dos prompt and the ip
address, but nothing worked. This phone line used to belong to our
tennent and he had problems with the cable and phone all the time (he
was far from an internet user of any kind). When he died, we brought
it down to us and got rid of our old number. I din't know if any of
this has to do with anything, but that's the story. Oh, and one of
the guys on the phone tech support hung up on me when I was quickly
calling my friend to get something explained. He was talking about
left clicking and right clicking, and I told him that I was blind at
which point he did the "oh I didn't know, I can't help you" thing and
while I was on with my friend I heard a click from the other phone.
It amazes me that no one knows any keyboard shortcuts. Also, he
didn't even ask me which system I was using. He automatically assumed
it was windows and started telling me what to do. I think he'd have a
heart attack if I told him I had a Mac as well. According to the
supervisor, he's now under investigation, and the head tech was also
annoyed at his conduct.

so yeah. I'm not very happy with comcast at the moment. (And yes, I
chose not to capitalise certain words on purpose.)
