Tim, just wanted to give you an update on what I accomplished. First
it seems the account configuration is really only useful for backing
up certain users on one machine or so I have been told. The best way
to protect the data is simply use parental controls and prevent anyone
from accessing the keychain application. This way you can use a disk
password. It would seem however as far as I can tell, that while Time
Machine is doing its thing, if the drive is mounted, the only thing
anyone can see is the contents of the machine they are on. In other
words if CrackerJack Mac is connected, then all you have access to is
the data for that machine. Now this works since we all have different
machines on the network, but if it were a multiple user situation,
this wouldn't work as well for me. I'm still not sure I completely
understand how this all works, but I anticipate Apple will enhance the
AirPort utility and abilities of the Time Capsule. Customers will
likely want some of these capabilities and if so, they'll find their
way into the software.
