That is what I thought. I knew what your point was and I knew the virus protection was a precaution from a Windows user who is use to virus protection schemes to guard there systems instead of their behavior. There are seven benign Mac viruses and none of them are in the Wild. There is a difference between a virus and a exploit and so far the Mac is very safe from viruses but code exploitation is very much alive. That is why we receive security updates. I am all for accessible applications and appreciate your input. Continue to rock and roll.

I guess i opened a real can of worms with this one. After running avast i found no viruses but 88 warnings which it didn't prompt me to do anything with them. I've just seen too many windows boxes that were unuseable after getting a virus or malware. The real reason for my original message was to highlight that avast for the mac is very accessible with vo, i didn't mean to start a contraversy.
