The only reason to run antivirus software is to help protect Windows
users from VB based attacks via MS Office documents... but then the
question has to be asked "...why the heck can't THEY run the software
THEY NEED TO... and stop expecting me to clean up after their mess..."
beyond the antivirus email programs that refuse to deliver such email
attached attachments I see no reason to run anti-virus software for
the reasons Greg has stated...
So save your money and reduce the risk of anti-virus software induced
issues on your machine by not buying any such software

I always thought that anti-virus software for Mac was a scam. Just
what are they protecting us from? There are no known MacOS viruses.
I've run Macs for over 25 years now and have never used anti-virus
software.

Hi there all,
I'm not sure whether or not this topic has been discussed on this
list, but I'm wondering if I should invest in a virus removal
program for the mac? I did see that Norton Antivirus does make a
version for mac OSX, however I didn't know if anyone out there had
a preference? Any info would be much appreciated.
