I get it now Norton is protecting us against rumored viruses, that a good trick indeed.

It was, too my knowledge, not an actual virus. There are plenty of rumors of Mac viruses, but none that I am aware of in the Windows, traditional sense. What spyware and such that exists are such that the user has to invite or allow them onto their systems, which has been discussed in the past.

Indeed, though, one should never discount this remaining the case forever. The "popularity" rationale for the lack of viruses can easily be debated, but, nevertheless, never say never.

I don't think you can say deffinately that is true, since as recently as the later part of last year there was a threat to Mac computers. Also, the market share for Mac computers is growing. I expect virus attacks will pick up shortly. Just remember there is no physical reason why someone couldn't write a virus program for the Mac.

There is no need for virus protection on the Mac. We don't get exploited like Windows does. The Mac community would let you know if anything even remotely looks like a virus.

Hi there all,
I'm not sure whether or not this topic has been discussed on this list, but I'm wondering if I should invest in a virus removal program for the mac? I did see that Norton Antivirus does make a version for mac OSX, however I didn't know if anyone out there had a preference? Any info would be much appreciated.
