SS: Personally, I'm a big Canon Canoscan fan. I like the fact
that CanoScan scanners are very portable and that they draw their
power from the computer's USB port VS needing their own power
source. In this way, I've been able to scan documents in
meetings, while on a bus if there's a free seat next to mine, or
just about anywhere else. Epson also makes a number of scanners
that seem to be very reliable and scan at pretty high speeds. One
important thing to really be sure of before choosing a scanner is
to make sure a Mac driver exists for it. Many scanners don't have
Mac drivers and, well, that's a heck of a thing to discover when
you finally get one and are excited to plug it in and start using
it. Not that I've ever had that experience, nope nope, not me. ;)
