It isn't a problem, it's a system preference, so you can't find
anything about it in Adium. Under system preferences/speech there are
two tabs, one for speech recognition and the other for text to speech.

OK I am an idiot. I can't find anything called text to speech

I will keep looking under system preffs. I really jut want this
turned off in Adium, though it doesn't look like there's a way to do
this?

care to hear system wide information spoken.

Hi Olivia!
Growl is a scripter. to my knowledge it enabled notifications of
system events for Adium. This includes who connects, who is
idle, away, disconnecting, and so fourth.
Hope this helps.

Hi Everyone,
When I use Adium I keep getting a message saying "system has
new system dialog." I seem to get this every time someone
signs on or off despite turning off sounds when I'm away.
Is this normal? Can anything be done to turn it off?
Thanks, Olivia
