Did you quit Flip4Mac? Command q is the shortcut you will want to
use. Tray that and restart Safari and Quicktime. No you do not have
to play.

OK, I tried what you said, but it's still not working. I now am!
able to hear Radio Time. So, we're half way there, the thing now
is, yeah, I was able to check the box to use quick time, but,
unfortunately, the first box that says use the plugin within the
browser, it's checked, but it's dimmed, so basicly, even checking to
bring up ITunes isn't working. I gather that somehow we gotta
uncheck that first box that is dimmed, but how can I do that? Why
is it dimmed to start with? I did see something in there, it's the
fifth tab in flip for Mac, called Upgrade. I wonder if I gotta pay
for a key to have access to that feature to have it not use it's own
internal plugin. I just for the life of me cannot figure out why in
the living heck that box is dimmed. Frankly this is kind of bazaar.

Command q to quit. Command w only closes the window.
Quicktime has its controls labeled and there are no shortcuts that
I am aware of.

Randy,
Well, the weirdest thing, is the box to use the plugin is dimmed,
however, it is checked. So, I don't think that'll pose too much
of a problem. The only thing really now is I did find the other
check box to use quick time, and I did! check that box, as it
wasn't dimmed out, but it was unchecked before. Then I just did
command w, as I didn't see an ok button or the like. So,
hopefully now, we should be all set to go.
Let me grab some breakfast, and finish this batch a mail, then
I'll E-mail yall and let yall know the outcome. I really
honestly haven't played much with just plain oal quicktime
though. I assume since ITunes backbones off of it, that the
commands'll be the same. Like vol up an down'll still be my
command up and down arrows, and mute'll still be my command shift
down arrow? I guess stop and pause would be space bar? Or
actually, does this work more like dvd player, where I need to do
command period to stop. Or actually, will either one stop it.
Thank you all so much for all of your guided help. It's very much
appreciated. I'm very confident that if all yall keep working
with me on this as yall are, we'll get to the bottom a this.
Chris.

Hi Chris,
After you install Flip4Mac
1. quit Safari and Quicktime if you have them running.
2. Go to System Preferences,
3. Choose Flip4Mac either from the list or the System
Preferences window,
4. Select the browser tab in the Flip4Mac wmv preference window,
5. Select Use Flip4Mac WMV Browser plug-in checked check box,
6. VO down arrow until you hear, Launch QuickTime Player
unchecked check box,
7. VO spacebar and you should hear, Launch QuickTime Player
checked check box,
8. Quit the Flip4Mac preferences and you are done.
Now whenever you want to listen to a windows media stream
Quicktime will launch, at least most of the time. I find that
with some radio station streams such as the one you mentioned
earlier the embedded player was used. Perhaps those streams use
flash. I am not certain of this but it is my guess.

o, ok, Randy, so how do we go about configuring this thing?
Now that I installed the .mpkg file, will it be residing in my
Application's folder, and if so, once it's up, just like usual,
do I just need to dooa command comma to bring up the preferences?

Chris,
That's why I have configured Flip4Mac to bring up Quicktime
rather than use the embedded player. This way I have the
Quicktime controls which are accessible with VoiceOver. The
xm radio embedded player is flash based and VoiceOver doesn't
work well or at all with flash.

Well, I can get the xm radio site to work, but I don't know
where the little icons like I said to turn up and down the
volume in the embedded player are. I neither can find stop,
play, or mute.
It's not a matter with the xm site, me not getting it to
play, and work, it's more I can't find out where those
controls are in the player.
Chris.

You need Flip4Mac. I am able to get both of these sites to
work with no problem using VO.

OK guys, two web sites here that I am slightly having a
little issue with on an accessibility side. One of which is
pretty well not working, period, the other a which is all?
frickin? most! there. It's like, Aaa! So! close, but, so!
far.
The first a these, is
http://listen.xmradio.com
OK OK OK, yeah? I know there is a dashboard widget that
will do xm Radio. I googled and can't seem to find the
thing. So, if anyone can help me find it, and give me a
download link to it, or even better yet, just attach it
and privately send it to me, that would really be awesome.
Basicly though: the only issue really with the online web
based player that I really am seeing, if anything, is, in
the player frame, if I interact with it, I do see!the quick
tune area, and the go button, however, under Windows, I am
able in Internet Explorer, to also see that in that frame,
there is a volume up, volume down, stop, play, and mute. I
don't see these with voiceover at all in the player
frame. They're not even showing as non clickable items.
They're just simply put: not there. They're totally being
skipped over. I tried vo up, down, left, and right. O
yeah, I made sure first, I was interacting with the frame,
don't worry about that. I'm perfectly aware a having to
interact with each frame. Really though, from what I can
see, that seems to honestly be the only real issue that I
have. Aside that, the site seems to work quite
flawlessly. The little buttons in the preset frame, like
what's on, my presets, etc? You do! have to actually do vo
+command+F5, and route your mouse pointer, then vo+Shift
+Space on 'em, and actually clickem, and I'll tell yall
now, they won't show up as links. They're actually not
links. In windows, at least, they're called on mouse
overs. Dono how the Mac really handles those. Anyway
though, if you actually physically clickem, they seem to
be working.
Now, the second site, I'm actually seeing a little more of
an issue.
http://www.RadioTime.com
Basicly, if you sign up for an account, which btw, is
free, and there is no captcha the last I looked.
Then, once logged in, try doing this just to regenerate my
problem:
Once logged in, do a vo+F. Yes, Vo F actually works fine
in this case.
Do a search for the word "Location"
Now, you probably're gonna land onna heading. So, vo
right once, and you'll land on the link that says by
location. OK, vo space on that link.
Now, on this next page, do a vo+F, then put in the word
"north"
That'll land you on a link that says North America. Vo
space on it.
Now, on the next page, do a vo+F, and search for "United"
That will land you on a link called United States of
America. Vo space on that link.
Now, do vo+F, and put in "Carolina"
That'll land you on North Carolina. Vo space on it.
Now do vo+F, and put in "Charlotte"
This should land you, most likely on a link that says
something to the effect of Charlotte, Gastonia, Rockhill.
Hit Vo+Space on it.
OK, now, finally, last step!
Bring up your item chooser list, with vo+I. then type in
WLYT.
Now vo down arrow until you find the link for WLYT 102.9.
Once there, Vo space on it to move to that link. Now,
don't vo space on it. That's not what you wanna do. I
just had you move to it, so you'll be in the area I need
you. OK, now, Vo left arrow, until you get to a link that
says listen. It'll be the first link you'll hit that says
this, right before that WLYT 102.9 link. OK, Vo space on
that listen link.
Now, This is the problem. It comes up in a new browser
window, just fine, however, there is absolutely no audio.
If you look at the top left item of this new window that
popped up, you'll see something that says Mac Warning
image. But then, voing around on this sfcreen doesn't
really reveal anything that says I need to downlaod a plug
in, or that it's not compatible, or the like. So, I'm
really kind a stumped. It works absolutely beyond
flawlessly in Windows, but on the Mac, it's beeing a pain.
I didn't know if maybe yall may could figure outta way in
Safari to get it to work. I don't have an intel based mac,
so Virtual Box, Fusion, and Boot Camp, are totally outta
the question.
Chris.
