hmm, I don't open the lid till I set it down but still, by the time I'm positioned on the keyboard, it's up.

Microsoft should just recommend OSX to all its Vista users for optimal performance and productivity. In general I never reboot my Mac unless its part of a software update. Even then, it's at my convenience and on my schedule. Since I'm on a laptop I close the lid and put it in my bag. Instant off.
