Hi,
I'm coming to this late, but basically as Louie said you can put
folders, files, and devices into the Finder sidebar by selecting them
and using Command-T to move them to the sidebar. You can delete them,
rename, them, etc. by using the contextual menu once you've moved
focus to those items in the sidebar. Also, to generally navigate and
see attached devices, etc. use the Finder keyboard shortcut Command-
Shift-C to see devices and network accessed items attached to your
computer. This would be a way to put an external disk in your
sidebar, for example. (Use Command-Shift-C to bring up items that your
computer recognizes, like network devices, etc., select them, and then
use Command-T to put this in the sidebar.) The other similar keyboard
shortcut command that I find very useful for Finder and for dialog
windows is Comand-Shift-G (go to folder). You can use this and then
type in the path name of any folder on your system. This could be
system files like /Library/Preferences or another user's account on
your machine, etc. To review a number of these keyboard shortcuts for
Finder (like Command-Shift-A for the Applications folder, Command-
Shift-U for the Utilities folder, Command-Shift-H for your home
directory, Command-SHift-I for the idisk if you are a MobileMe user,
etc.) check out Tim Kilburn's VoiceOver web pages. Here, for example,
is the page for shortcuts:
http://homepage.mac.com/kilburns/voiceover/shortcuts.html
There is also a general page for finder.
Cheers,
Esther

it looks like the only way to remove an item from the sidebar is to

moving
items from it.

Hi Chris,
When you have focus on the item that you want on the side bar cmd t
will move it to the side bar. Also if you go to the menu bar to file
and arrow down you will find the command there.
