I'm also looking at other alternatives like Omnipage Pro etc. What's the most accessible one, whether commercial or free? Is it Vuescan or something else? Btw, I installed the MP Navigator software from Cannon but couldn't get it to work at all. It makes a dinging sound and my bf said the screen says that there was an error in installation. The menu utility is also a joke and I can't access it at all.
