I, too, have tried to get information from Nuance about Omnipage Pro
which I've been using for about three years now, but it looks as
though it's no longer of interest to the Nuance people. They still
have the gall to charge a fortune for it, though, despite the fact
that there has been no development on it since 2001.
I've recently bought ReadIris and we already had VueScan, so I'm now
doing the same as Jacob, scanning with VueScan and OCR with ReadIris.
I also use the IRISPen Executive to identify books and any other
printed matter before deciding whether it's worth scanning properly or
not.
