A.R. The IRISPen Executive is a handheld scanner, about the size of a highlighting pen. It connects to the computer via USB. You run it along a line of print, and when you release the pressure on the pen, the software performs the OCR and the System Voice reads it aloud. You can also examine the scanned text by interacting with it. It takes a bit of practice to move the IRISPen in a straight line, and I usually use a set square to give me a straight edge. I'm totally blind so I find it very useful for reading enough of the labels of cans and jars to be able to identify the contents.
