My Mac Book Pro came already setup with Boot Camp and Vista on one of the
partitions. I got my system through Disability Services in my University.
Thanks for the rest of the tips. I'm going to contact the supplier to find
out the password they used and what the Apple ID is because I wasn't told
this. I can't update any software on the Mac without the user password.

Here are some answers but I don't have them all and I also have a question
or two for you.
First, how did you manage to get a Macbook pro with vista installed?
Second, in order to run a Mac, you need to pick a user name and password
during setup. Do you have that user name and password? This is also
known
as your apple id. It is used to create and sign into your ITunes store
account. You can sign up for an apple id on the apple store:

If you like the screen dark, you can toggle the voice over screen curtain
with control-option-shift-f11.
An important keystroke for you to know is shift-control-option-down and up
arrow. This is what you use to interact with and stop interacting with
html
content respectively.
To save you from typing extra characters, the key to the right of control
is
option. There is also one to the right of command on the other side of
the
space bar so you have two options for option keys.
Bootcamp works the same in leopard as it did in tiger. hold down option
as
soon as you hear the start chime for about three seconds, use left and
right
arrows to pick the os. This does not speak. You can also select the os
you
want the system to start with by default both on the windows side and on
the
Mac side. In windows, there is a bootcamp item somewhere, don't know
where
that is in vista. On the mac, in system prefs, open startup disc and
choose
it there.
You can set up a .mac account if you have a trial of or have purchased a
.mac account from apple. You can also set up one of your acccounts and
make
sure the messages are not deleted from the server when they are downloaded
so you can get some real world practice. I have all my accounts set up on
my Mac. I have a 15" Macbook pro that came out in late february.
ITunes works well for podcast catching.
fat32 formatted mass storage should work fine. you might have trouble
with
ntfs formatted stuff. Usb is plug and play.
Under the apple menu, there is a software update item, this will check
for
updates. in system preferences, there is also a software update item for
configuring how software updates are checked for. Other maintainance is
automatic except for repair disc permissions which is found in the
utilities
folder of the applications folder in disc utility. You would run this if
you do a lot of installing and removing and after major updates.
