press command-f5 to turn it on and off. the only reason I can think of that
it might not talk would be that somehow the computer has been set to a
different language.

Subject: Viceover not speaking!#

Hi all:

I finally got my Macbook couple of days ago. Thanks to this mailing
list I was able to get myself up and running very quickly.
Unfortunately, a sighted colleague was playing around with it and now
I can't get the voiceover to speak. The volume is at full and i could
play music no problem. My wife was able to get the VoiceOver utility
up by typing voiceover in the spotlight search box. I am able to
scrol down the different voices and hear the voice samples but I
can't get voiceover to talk.Any ideas what might have happened hear?

Thanks,

kamal
