Really! now that is interesting. I've never known a computer, windows based or Mac based, either way, that would just refuse to play without a monitor actually quote unquote connected. Now, if you didn't even have a video out port? that? may be a different story, but, wow. I guess I've been proven wrong once and for all, again.

Chris.

Yes, the dvd player program works well, but on a mac mini, if there is not a monitor connected, it will refuse to work. You would not see this on an Imac or laptop, because the screen is built in.

You don't need a monitor. Have you looked in the applications folder? There is a app in there called dvd player, and believe me when I say: it works absolutely perfectly!

Hi all, for those with mac mini's, who aren't using a monitor, do you
know if you can play dvd's on your mac mini, or do you have to fool the
mac mini in to thinking it is hooked up to a monitor when it is not,
and what would you have to purchase to do this, since I was told I
wouldn't need a monitor with my mac mini when I purchased it. Thanks
in advance for any information.

Marty
