Justin,
This is very cool! I hadn't thought of the training involved, but you've given me something to think about.
My main theme is being a good steward with your resources, people, purpose, and operations with a heavier emphasis on computer administration for the SMB market. That is, I sell computers all day to people and I come across these same issues all day long, hence this is why I'm writing the book.
My hope is that people will get the idea that if they use open source software as a small business and using software such as OO then they can either reduce their overall costs or improve their hardware purchase. Such as:
Windows Open Source Software $400 (Office Std) $0 Hardware $600 $1000 Total $1000 $1000
I'm also putting some proceses (that's my main talent) to using their computers and being effective and efficient with what they do, i.e. if they follow these steps they's reduce the problems that have.
Thanks for the info and great job on the eLearning stuff

Hi all,
As I wrote earlier, I'm writing a book for the SMB market for Windows, Mac, and Linux to show that open source software and other alternative software choices are "good enough" for most people.

Hi Kevin,
For your book, I hope you mention the cost of getting up and running for new OOo 2 users will be even easier, through the introductory lessons being made available to all:
http://www.digitaldistribution.com/community/gettingtoknowwriterpart1/ http://www.digitaldistribution.com/community/gettingtoknowwriterpart2/ http://www.digitaldistribution.com/community/gettingtoknowwriterpart3/ http://www.digitaldistribution.com/community/gettingtoknowbasepart1/ http://www.digitaldistribution.com/community/gettingtoknowbasepart2/ http://www.digitaldistribution.com/community/gettingtoknowbasepart3/
With more on the way to cover the remainder of the main OOo2 applications, and these will also be packaged into an installable .exe for Windows users so they can have them at hand.
You may note they're released under a Creative Commons license, so they can be packaged and included with OOo2 (or derivatives, addons, etc) to meet the need of end users.
:-)
Regards and best wishes,
Justin Clift
