Having an option to force a file type when opening (e.g. Open As) would go a long way to solve that problem. That would also avoid the program misinterpreting how the file should be dealt with.
Maybe that's already in the newset version or beta, but since I'm using 1.1.2, I don't see it.
The Open dialog already does that, and has for as long as I remember.
