Again I wonder what you mean from separating content.

Where did I wrote about separating content ?

You wrote about master documents as a way to improve OO.o collaborative
capabilities (Meaning separate parts created by separate persons would be
combined in a single document. With the separate parts coming potentially
from different apps in the office suite)

I answered you you need to tackle the distribution problem of these
separate parts before you start thinking of the many ways you could put
them together. And that all the compound document types I knew where used
by users not for their integration properties but to distribute a bunch of
related files together.

Because the distribution problem is much more important for your average
user. It's no use being able to integrate many different parts if you have to fish all those parts every month/week/day from your mailbox. And wonder
which version your team members sent you is the last one.

Sorry early morning, my brain hasn't turned on. So bare with me, another question, is distribution of the file????

Easy, just generate a PDF from the Master document and you have a single up-to-date file. Since this is a 'live document' I dont think you will need modification. I mean I am thinking this of being something of a Business Plan.

So you have your proforma's on Calc document comming from the accounting department, You also have your slogan coming from your sales/marketing deparment. Sales campaing list comming from your planning department.

Events from your admin assistant and your long term goals from the board and the anual report presentaiton. They are all linked to a master document on different sections that are relevant to the master document and you end up with a complete document. Then you only open it, it updates all the documents that is dependant and finally you generate a PDF out of it.

Send it by email and Life is good.

did I miss something... like....waking up? :)
