It's not easy to setup the organisation you need to get all these data
flow in place.
Actually it's quite easy took me less than 1 hour.
Office tools to do it at whoefully inadequate. Sure you can
pay for a customized file server to host them but that's out of the reach
of SOHO's and lots of work for even bigger organisations.
Just because you think is inadecaute doesn't mean it doesnt work or it
can't be done or that someone will make an easy tutorial to just follow
suit.
Documents just
don't end up in the right place to be sourced from all by themselves.
Then how cum this worked for me?
If you don't solve this part master documents will be used only by a few
people belonging to corporations that managed to put this plumbing in
place. ie a rich man toy.
Why do you think MS is focusing on sharepoint nowadays ?
