Look at it from the other side - what if your computer did contain sufficently
valuable information so that finding out who your friends were and getting their
computers infected was a good proposition from a cost / benefit POV? Remember
which
"part" of French government did the review. Your friends may not be capable of
protecting their systems and the (business) information in those to the same
extent
than you.
