If you define high end games as Quake, Doom, Jagged Alliance and the like,
there are Linux versions already and have been for a while and more will come
as more Game Devs move to OpenGL.

That fact unfortunately has received little or no media attention! At
least as far as mainstream (non Linux) publications are concerned.
While I didn't mention any games specifically, I did mean those, and
Half-Life 2.
