In my understanding no filter is perfect, formatting (especially of
complex tables) gets changed by the filtering process. So filtering
.wps to.doc to.odt adds an extra layer of possible damage to the
original anyway.

Many home users converting to OO.o are coming from Works, so the Works
filter set is IMHO well worth the time and effort required, even if only
one way.
