Hi Gregory

I work in an office that has recently moved to Microsoft CRM. This has
SharePoint integrated into it for checking out documents related to an
account. I am looking for a way to get away for office as much as
possible, especially since this has required the use of Office 2007 to
work with SharePoint. Are there any plans for a plug-in for OpenOffice
that will allow this feature to work? I understand that what I am
asking for is a plug-in to allow an OpenOffice client to work in a
purely Microsoft Environment, however it would make for an easier
transition away from that environment.

I have to use Sharepoint 2003 at work. It is possible, but fiddly, to use
OpenOffice.org to edit documents stored in the portal.

Opening the document should be OK. To save the document, you'll have to
save locally (say to the desktop), then re-add the document to Sharepoint.

There are some Sharepoint alternatives being created (most notably
O3Spaces, http://www.o3spaces.com/).

I hope this helps.
