The language attribute is kept separate from all other attributes. In
OOo 2.4 you can change it easily using the language status bar control.

Ciao,
Mathias

I can not find the option to "remove language attribute formatting". I want the language to be linked to the style sheet.

Hi
You don't say which version of OOo you are using, but as Mathias said, in 2.4 in Tools-Language there is an option to set Language to "None" for Selection, Paragraph or All Text. There doesn't seem to be a keyboard shortcut assigned, but this can (I believe) be done. See the Help files for this.

BTW, for future reference this probably belongs more on the "Users" list, rather than "Discuss" which is more about features etc, than utilisation problems.

Regards

Russell

Setting the language to none disables the spellchecker and places a non-stylesheet language override with "no language" but it does not remove the non-stylesheet language formatting overrides.

The language selector dialog does have a "none" language, but not there is no option for "default" language.

There is no option to "remove non-stylesheet language formatting". The only thing that "remove formatting" does now is to remove character attribute overrides except non-stylesheet language overrides, whereas the earlier versions, "remove language" always remove all character attributes including non-stylesheet language overrides.

I had to cut-&-paste in between OpenOffice.org and a text editor to remove non-stylesheet language overrides.
