There is no option to "remove non-stylesheet language formatting". You are right, that ATM this does not work. And it did work in pré 2.4.0 versions.
Looking at the specs [1], I see no indication of this change.

Maybe someone of the developer-team (fl, mba?) can shed some light on this?
