Hopefully when this drama about what to do with people trying to help synhak the best they can that are wired differently than others finally ends, I think the knight foundation needs more discussion the the mailing list.
My idea: What about a $500 challenge for a few selected from some type of application process or crashing a local science fair to pitch "the science fair project i wanted to make but didn't have the money to do it" (yes this has some baggage on my end, why I would be more than willing to organize it). It ends in a 15 person event where each person makes what they wanted to AT SynHak and a mini-mini-makerfaire is held (also at SynHak), showcasing "look what I can do with $500". It is not only a publicity event for us and the Knight foundation, but a chance for younger inventors to be seen, heard, and express what they wanted to. This also helps give some direct experience to those involved for the formation of the lil* later this year. What's wrong with this? What's better?
