Hola Alexandro, *

decisiones en relación a esos cambios, te has involucrado en TDF y has

Ramon

Dear Louis and CC members,

some members of the Spanish NLC project find that the current leader,
Alexandro Colorado, is incurring in a situation of Conflict of Interest
(COI). The grounds for that thoughts are the following:

Ramon,

For weeks I have been reading the big shakeup you have been caused to
our community. You have been pushing this conflict of interest for quite
a while and even if other members of the community have explain you
several times that such doesn't exist you have incisted in the issue. At
the same time, your work has been extremely limited in the community.
Your only contribution has been a paper that was translated by you in
2008. Since then most of the emails have been to either claiming not
agreen with our changes or having it's members including myself under a
shadier light that needed.

- Alexandro has registered the domain documentfoundation.es to his name.
He's furthermore actively working with the TDF leaders on building and
promoting that domain, even within the Spanish OOo Community.

That is a big assumption, honestly I dont time myself on the work I do
for TDF or OOo. At the moment I have been working on three different
projects, the OOo wiki help files have been updated as well on many
oooES meetings regarding the release of 3.3 from OOo. Saying that I have
been working more on TDF than OOo might actually be untrue since there
is more work right now in 3.3 release than others. Regardless of that I
have been working with the documentation team to get the starting guide
for OOo up to speed.

- Alexandro and other members have started a private project named
oooes.org, independent of OOo. Alexandro and those members are
encouraging people in the OOo project to leave OOo and migrate to that
private project.

http://es.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=discuss_es&msgNo=24454

OOoES was started 3 years ago as a way to have a better syncronization
of the tasks for OOo. Giving the release of LibreOffice and also the
increase of tasks from ooo4kids in the past year and a half we have been
discussing the task of having a neutral channel of communication. This
will allow us better flexibility on organizing the work from this 3
projects so we launched a mailing list that will allow us to do our job
better. We have never encourage anybody to leave OOo but on the contrary
if you read the letter. We want to show the commitment to the OOo project.

- Alexandro intends to migrate the lists and forums of OOo to that
private project oooes.org.

http://es.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=discuss_es&msgNo=24472
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/ES/Organizacion/Log5JuntaOOoES

We never intended to migrate the forums, actually the forums have taught
us because of their unique position to handle the communication on the
mailing list on a similar arangement. Since the forums are sort of
independent, same way oooauthors.org which can extend their support to
other projects. Other projects like the BrOffice have a similar
configuration where they are able to handle their own infrastructure and
provide it's own services. oooES has been doing this for several years
with the services on Moodle and other peripheral sites cross-linked with
the collabnet site.

- Other members of the Spanish project with administration privileges
are also encouraging people to quit the OOo project and work on the
oooes.org site instead.

http://es.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=dev&msgNo=4674
http://es.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=dev&msgNo=4685

Again this is completley false, migrating list and quiting OOo project
are very different things. This migration plan was announced and handle
a public meetup to present possible disagreements, as far as I can tell,
there was not a big reasoning why this shouldn't be done. As you can
see, most of the people have spoken in approval of this proposal. Ariel,
Marcos, and yourself have been vocal on your disagreament. But the pros
outweights the cons and we have considered we gave the chance for
everyone to express their concerns. In the end most people have reacted
positively to the news. More important, the people that agree is the
people that has contributed the most ot this community through out it's
9 years history. I don't think that people with such commitment has
intend on just quiting. Same goes to the this COI deal, I can argue that
you have the same position with your company being listed as supporter
of the TDF. I think what is more important your actual contributions,
than your discussions on a mailing list.

Some people on the Spanish project think that behavior is unacceptable
in a leader of the OOo Community. We tried to start a discussion in the
Spanish lists and asked for an explanation, but after several weeks we
hadn't any response from Alexandro about the COI. Furthermore, he is

I already responded to you earlier in the discussion
(http://es.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=users&msgNo=9188), I am
sorry I didn't continue replying. I need that time on things that can
provide a better benefit to the project. that time could be better
invested in actually improving the documentation or performing QA on
this upcoming 3.3 release. Perhaps I would be more interested in
learning how this proposal could affect negatively your job in the
community?

insisting in moving people and information of OOo to the oooes.org site.
It seems he's practicing a strategy of avoid the topic and keep
"business as usual" as if nothing happened. I think we are in an
extraordinary circumstance, as defined in the Guidelines for
Participating in OpenOffice.org, where the CC should act. So I'm
publicly informing the OOo project leader and the CC of the situation
and asking for a new election of the leader, if you finally think the
COI exists.

Best Regards,

Ramon Sole

http://es.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=users&msgNo=9186

nuevo proyecto privado.

http://es.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=discuss_es&msgNo=24454

proyecto privado oooes.org.

http://es.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=discuss_es&msgNo=24472
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/ES/Organizacion/Log5JuntaOOoES

http://es.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=dev&msgNo=4674
http://es.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=dev&msgNo=4685

Saludos cordiales,

Ramon Sole
