I'll add to Robert's comments to say that, even if the articles and resources are old, at least the concepts should still apply generally. For people who may be connecting to UPS as their first example of a web service-based integration, there's more of a challenge just getting up to speed with doing that in general. I'll point out that I've done articles and presentations on the subject and it may help you (or others), as much for the tools and techniques which apply to all web services:
Creating and Consuming Web Services in CFML: http://carehart.org/presentations/#websvc CFML Web Services Tips and Tricks: http://carehart.org/presentations/#websvctips Exploring Amazon Web Services with CFML: Exploring Amazon Web Services with CFML But I appreciate that you may know all that (but the tools can really help), and are more just looking for specific (and more modern) UPS API integration examples. Sorry I can't help there. /charlie From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Robert Lash Sent: Wednesday, October 29, 2008 4:10 PM To: discussion@acfug.org Subject: Re: [ACFUG Discuss] UPS Tools I haven't touch this area in several years and don't know of any updated pre-built cf to handle this, but I can tell you that you are correct in that a lot of these solutions are out of date. I found this out the hard way in looking for this type of solution for a FedEx shipping solution and ended up rolling my own FedEx solution using their API. Even after looking at some of the logic in these pre-built solutions it was apparent that they weren't very accurate and most were buggy. The API's are the way to go in my opinion as you don't have to worry about the fuel calculations and other math that the API just handles for you. Most of these require a developer key which you can get from there developer site(s). Hopefully someone else on the list has something for you since you are stating that time is critical. There are numerous ecommerce solutions with built in shipping features, so maybe you could get with one of their developers for insight. At this point, the main thing I have left is integrating UPS and/or USPS shipping calculator into the app. I've searched around online and everything looks to be fairly old that's out there. Anyone have any good sample/example code for the UPS and/or USPS API interaction? I figured that this would be fairly easy to find googling it.
