@Rich - would it be worth creating a D&I track and announce it broadly? My
rationale is that by creating a formal talk we could incentivize folks to
create content on the topic. I believe the Chicago Roadshow will have one
so we could emulate. If this is the case, we could finish the track with a
round table or workshop to construct an action plan for 1 or 2 concrete
deliverables. I'm happy to facilitate this.

So, concrete follow ups: Let's figure out if we can open a track, if we
can - Patricia would you lead it? If you can't, then let's just keep the
attendance organized and ensure we at least have a BoF to work on 1 or 2
deliverables.

If we decide on a separate track, I will support it any way I can.

I would ask that you coordinate with Sharan. She is running a community
track. I know that they're not exactly the same thing but there is
substantial overlap. I just want to make sure that we are not working at
cross-purposes.

I am not sure what mix we should have between talks in the community track and separate D&I talks. The community track will have wider visibility. A D&I track is likely to only attract people who already believe D&I is a valid issue calling for action.

There seem to me to be two types of talks that may be offered. Talks that assume D&I is important, and address what to do about it on that assumption, would be more suitable for a D&I track or BoF. Talks that look at why we need to do something, or that discuss how D&I fits into general community issues are more suitable for the community track.
