Good to see you guys are progressing.

I've red lots of interesting and valid input, but from what I can see
there is tearing decisions ahead and whoever
will take the design lead will be invariably limited by the current
state of the admin.

If you want to achieve something like we are doing with grappelli,
namely refactoring the dom/layout/design and the JavaScript,
you'll have no other choice than to  break backward compatibility.
That's not just a "new feature", that's a deep refactoring.

For that reason I think it would make sense to use the same strategy
than with forms, using a ephemeral namespace (something
like newadmin?) for the development/transition time.
