i had a quick look in the virus manual, which doesnt go into too much
detail, but it looks like it can affect polyphony. the virus doesnt have a
double saw as the nova does (afaik anyway). apparently unison "enables you
to initiate two or more voices for each note played which in turn lets you
detune may oscillators" and shift the phases of the LFOs and spread them in
stereo. think i'll have to spend time experimenting with unison mode - its
always nice to find new features on something you thought you knew well...
:)

not that i'd say no to a nova - the times i've played around with a
supernova 2 i've always got very nice warm pad and atmospheric sounds out of
it quite easily
