just out of interest, do you never just send an unmastered version to the label?
in my experience mastering engineers always prefer to receive an unmastered version. in my home studio there's no way i can do as good a master as my mastering engineer, cos he's got 4 different sets of speakers hooked up (including fat club speakers), lots of expensive analogue gear, college training, lots of experience, etc etc. i figure: why try to do it myself? i think the best thing to do is to take an unmastered mix to the mastering engineer and sit in on the mastering process - that way you can ask them to pump the levels and they can consult you on the various EQ settings etc. anyway, sorry for taking it a bit off-topic! nice one, mutiny ----- Original Message ----- From: "James Smith" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Thursday, January 03, 2002 7:44 PM Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: T-racks vs. Waves Ultramaximiser? > I agree with Brian here.
