mate of mine bought one recently at that price (i think they're being discontinued). from what he's said, theres some very nice sounds on there even if it is a little dated (he's mainly after pad/atmos type sounds). its sample based (afaik) so to compare it directly with a supernova2 (etc) wouldnt be fair, particularly considering how cheap it is.
i'm pretty sure he's happy that it was 350 worth spent. ph. ----- Original Message ----- From: Daniel Norman To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List Sent: Thursday, January 03, 2002 4:16 PM Subject: [dnb-prod] Emu Audity Hi, Just a quick query, but has anyone ever owned an Emu AUDITY 2000 (like a light blue Proteus 2000). Anyone rate them? Digital Village have them for 350 and they used to be 1200, so its either a sale bargain or they are shite - mind you Sound on Sound reckoned they were pretty versatile with 16 part arps, modulation and Z Plane filters, but i wondered if they were any good for nice synth strings/sounds and pads or subtle rolling basslines with the arpeggiators? I think it might but don't want to waste my money. If not what is everyones favourite synth for nice sounds (ie not nasty bass, which we know is for the Virus, Novations etc) - Roland XP30s or Wavestations?- i need fat Good Looking pads and Timeless strings.... Any help appreciated....
