How is the performance increase compared to win98?
Just curious... anyone?
I tried XP on my old system (AMD 550) and the system was crawling...
(compared to the previous win98 install), even disabling all graphic
eyecandy.
My production PC is an Athlon 1400.. with win98 SE installed. Do you think I
can expect a performance increase if I install XP?
My internet browsing has improved and so has general computer processes etc, I think XP needs a faily decent PC to run correctly and gain full benefits so thats why maybe your 550 didn't gain much from XP. I am very happy with XP, although there are a few software hiccups here and there I think that the upgrade was beneficial.
