Yeah, cheers... I'm gonna meet up with her a few times before hand and discuss these things...
I guess we'll need to have some sort of tune mapped out to start off with (pretty obvious I suppose, but I'm used to moulding vocals into what I want rather than the other way around!)!! Hmm.. I guess my trademarked brand of lazy ass song writing is gonna have to take a backseat for this one!!! cheers, NIck -----Original Message----- From: carlos [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, January 21, 2002 12:01 PM To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: Studio sessions: Recording Vocals mmm i assume you've got the melody sorted? this is a must! also it is worth at least shoving a basic beat and some chords together, as this will help the singer get a feel for the rhythm and give a melodic reference (i.e. help to keep her in tune!). the rest you can do afterwards. if you can, it's worth sending her a backing track, maybe with the vocal melody played on the keyboard or something (if you CAN sing, do...). the performance is likely to be a lot better if she has practised before. nice one, mutiny ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nick Lankester" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Monday, January 21, 2002 11:48 AM Subject: [dnb-prod] Studio sessions: Recording Vocals > Hey all... > > The past couple of weeks have been completely mental for me and apart from > 100 random things completely changing my life I've been lucky enough to be > offered some free studio time in a Soho studio...
