hi i work in a studio, and i seen sooo many thing s bieng done with and/or to vocal that i can almost write a book, especially to hip hop! when i want vocs to my traks i usually give the beat and a simple bass line containig the fundamental notes of the track. if this depend on a loop, i get a bass playing along to, since most vocalists tend to sing better when they "feel" the track... Ask her what she prefers - this IS a good option. and allways be sincere with the results, better takes will for sure appear when you two can comunicate.
