That should be enough RAM to run quite a nice amount of plugins etc...
 
I think you need to give a bit more detail as to your setup to sort it out...
 
If you post the :
 
OS
Soundcard model
Hard drive setup
ASIO driver setup
Cubase audio system settings..
Version of Cubase?
 
It should be possible to make it a bit better...
 
What happens exactly? The PC becomes unresponsive in General? Takes time to update screen? Audio dropouts?
 
What's the reading on the VST CPU usage meter?

Whenever I am working in Cubase the whole PC slows down dramatically. I have got 256 megs of RAM/ p3 1000mhtz. Is this behavior considered normal for the amount of RAM I have or should I go and get some more?
