These are the settings (I think) that I use with the SBlive...

48000 sample rate (ALWAYS use this as the card internally works at this rate ... Other rates will force it to do additional conversions)
Disk Buffer = as large as possible... Memory allocation should be large also although one of the middling settings should be OK..
IO buffers were set to 6000 each for a while and I got it to work.. I think I reduced them shortly after although I'm not sure..

Right click on Computer on the XP desktop... Go to Properties... Then goto 'performance' (I think).. There should be an option somewhere to set the process priorities.. It'll probably be set to applications/programs.. You need to set it to Background Processes... This gives the soundcard access to more Ummpf!

Failing all of that I would try uninstalling the card and then reinstalling it... Or the same for cubase...

There are other things you can do but Amsterdam's finest has made it a little difficult to recall them at the mo' ;)

good luck

Nick

I presume you've read all the crap about fiddling with input/output buffers and audio channel memory allocation? (In the Audio>> System screen)..

If you've already tried all this then all I can suggest is getting a newer version of Cubase.. I had numerous problems with my SBlive in Cubase (In Windows ME) until I upgraded to 5.1 ... Then it all ran smooth as silk.. Hit me up if you need it..

I haven't tried the imput output buffers yet. It did the same thing with Cubase 5 R6, I just recently upgraded to 5.1 R1 and still does the same shit. I think its time for a decent soundcard anyways, lack of ASIO sucks.
Easy,
Will
