"my soundcard's better than yours, etc, etc" heheheh... ;-) does the Hammerfall have hardware EQ? If it does, why would you want to use the Reason EQ or even the Cubase EQ?

But only in certain situations.. This is mainly because they seem to take up less CPU than the Cubase ones (Although Cubase 5.1s AMD optimisations may have changed that).. Also I find that the Reason EQ tends to work with Sub bass better?!! I've got no idea wether that's actually true or if it's just a coincedence that the Bass's I've made using the Reason EQ were better anyway.. But yeah, I agree on the whole.. Sounds like it could be the mixer algorithm in Reason or even the main audio engine.. Should be pretty easy to test if the drop in sound quality is that noticable... I've *very* much been wondering this. If you use Rewire with, say, Cubase, the Cubase engine is doing the audio generation. But digital info is still passed from Reason (info that describes the "sound"). Will it sound better? I hope so. Need to sit down and really test it. b ===== Brian J.
